WM8998
The WM8998 is a highly-integrated, low power audio hub codec designed to optimized the needs of multimedia devices using SLIMbus application processors. The WM8998 digital core combines fixed-function signal processing blocks with a fully flexible, all digital audio mixing and routing engine for extensive use-case flexibility. Signal processing blocks include filters, EQ, dynamics processors, and sample rate converters. A SLIMbus interface supports multi-channel audio paths and host control register access, and multiple sample rates are supported concurrently. Three further digital audio interfaces are provided, each supporting a wide range of standard audio sample rates and serial interface formats. Automatic sample rate detection enables seamless wideband/narrowband voice call handover. The codec also features a stereo line output, stereo 2W Class D speaker outputs, a dedicated BTL earpiece output, PDM for external speaker amplifiers, and an IEC-60958-3 compatible S/PDIF transmitter. The WM8998 power, clocking and output driver architectures are all designed to maximize battery life in voice, music and standby modes. Low power 'sleep' is supported, with configurable wake-up events.

WM9714
The WM9714 is a highly integrated input/output device designed for mobile computing and communications. The chip is architected for dual codec operation, supporting hi-fi stereo codec functions via the AC link interface, and additionally supporting voice codec functions via a PCM type Synchronous Serial Port (SSP). A third Aux DAC is provided which may be used to support generation of supervisory tones, or ring-tones, etc., at different sample rates to the main codec. The device can connect directly to mono or stereo microphones, stereo headphones and a stereo speaker, reducing total component count in the system. Capless connections to the headphones, speakers, and earpiece may be used, saving cost and board area. Additionally, multiple analog input and output pins are provided for seamless integration with analog connected wireless communication devices. All device functions are accessed and controlled through a single AC-Link interface compliant with the AC’97 standard. The 24.576 MHz masterclock can be input directly or generated internally from a 13MHz (or other frequency) clock by an onboard PLL. The PLL supports a wide range of input clock from 2.048Mhz to 78.6Mhz. The WM9714 operates at supply voltages from 1.8 to 3.6 Volts. Each section of the chip can be powered down under software control to save power. The device is available in a small leadless 7x7mm QFN package, ideal for use in hand-held portable systems.

WM8958
The WM8958 is a highly integrated, ultra-low power hi-fi codec with an integrated stereo Class D/AB speaker driver and Class W headphone driver to minimize power consumption during audio playback. The device requires only two voltage supplies, with all other internal supply rails generated from integrated LDOs. Stereo full duplex asynchronous sample rate conversion and multi-channel digital mixing combined with powerful analog mixing to support a wide range of different architectures and use cases. A smart digital microphone interface provides power regulation and a low jitter clock output and decimation filters for up to four digital microphones. A MIC activity detect with interrupt is available. Active ground loop noise rejection and DC offset correction help prevent pop noise and suppress ground noise on the headphone outputs. A multiband compressor and programmable parametric EQ provide volume maximization and speaker compensation in the digital playback paths. The dynamic range controller can be used in record or playback paths for maintaining a constant signal level, maximizing loudness and protecting speakers against overloading and clipping.

The cost effective CS5343/44 perform sampling, A/D conversion and anti-alias filtering, generating 24-bit values for both left and right inputs in serial form at sample rates up to 108 kHz per channel and deliver 98 dB of dynamic range and -92 db of THD + N. They differ only in serial audio interface format support, with the CS5343 supporting the I²S format and the CS5344 supporting left-justified serial data format.

CS4350 PLAYBACK
The CS4350 stereo audio digital/analog converter (DAC) features excellent dynamic range, out-of-band noise performance and on-chip phase-locked-loop (PLL) based master clock with 24-bit conversion and up to 216 kHz sampling rates with 109 dB dynamic range performance, making the IC ideal for applications where an audio-related system clock is not present. By integrating the PLL, the CS4350 eliminates the need for external master clock routing across the circuit board by locking to the incoming left-right clock signal, as opposed to the video clock or other high-speed clock sources, thus significantly reducing interference and clock-jitter sensitivity.

WM8152
The WM8152 is a 16-bit analog front end/digitizer IC which processes and digitizes the analog output signals from CCD sensors or Contact Image Sensors (CIS) at pixel sample rates of up to 12MSPS. The device includes a complete analog signal processing channel containing reset level clamping, correlated double sampling, programmable gain and offset adjust functions. Internal multiplexers allow fast switching of offset and gain for line-by-line colour processing. The output from this channel is time multiplexed into a high-speed 16-bit analog to digital converter. The digital output data is available in 4-bit wide multiplexed format. An internal 4-bit DAC is supplied for internal reference level generation. This may be used to reference CIS signals or during reset level clamping to clamp CCD signals. An external reference level may also be supplied. ADC references are generated internally, ensuring optimum performance from the device. Using an analog supply voltage of 5V, a digital core voltage of 5V, and a digital interface supply of either 5V or 3.3V, the WM8152 typically only consumes 225mW when operating from a single 5V supply.

The CS4398 is a low power, 120 dB stereo digital/analog converter (DAC) featuring digital de-emphasis, half dB step-size volume control, ATAPI channel mixing, and selectable fast and slow roll off digital interpolation filters. This stage is followed by an over sampled multi-bit Delta Sigma modulator, which includes mismatch shaping technology that eliminates distortion due to capacitor mismatch, and a multi-element switched capacitor stage and low-pass filter with differential analog outputs. A Direct Stream Digital® (DSD) processor allows for volume control and 50 kHz on-chip filtering without an intermediate decimation stage, plus an optional path for direct DSD conversion by directly using the multi-element switched capacitor array. The IC accepts DSD audio and 32 kHz to 200 kHz data sample rates, has selectable digital filters and delivers excellent sound quality.
