On commercial and military aircraft overwing/main exit door applications, environmental sealing is critical. Honeywell MICRO SWITCH sealed basic switches (SE/XE) feature MIL-PRF-8805, symbol 3 sealing, while the HM and HS Series switches are sealed to MIL-PRF-8805, symbol 5 hermetic. MICRO SWITCH sealed limit switches (EN, HE, and HR Series) feature MIL-PRF-8805 with either symbol 4 or 5 hermetic sealing. Honeywell proximity sensors, like their sealed basic and limit switch counterparts, are hermetically sealed, as well.
