Power Meter (Three-phase)
详情介绍
Overview
The use of power meters which are capable of remotely controling a variety of household appliances and systems is increasing. This is a result of an increase in awareness and demand for energy-efficiency and environmental friendliness. This, in turn, has made the usage of local energy resources more efficient. As power meters become a communication gateway to the home, they are becoming more advanced in both their performance and functionality.
A power meter must operate on its internal battery from factory shipment to the installation. Low-power consumption is essential when only the real-time clock (RTC) is running. Also needed are multiple communication interfaces for AMR and AMI support, infrared communication for meter reading, and data transfer to and from prepaid cards.
Within the microcontroller (MCU) lineup offered by Renesas, RX200 Series and RL78 Family provide the high performance, large memory capacity, and low power consumption required by three-phase meters. Above all, RX21A Group and RL78/I1C Group which are the microcontrollers for controlling the power meter, reduce costs by reducing the number of external components and improves operability with the built-in 24-bit ΔΣ (delta-sigma) ADC in addition to the main features. Also they support enhanced security functions with AES H/W integration for smart meters . Renesas offers a lineup of microcontrollers with built-in ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 and Power Line Communication (PLC) functions essential to smart meters.
