In all the automotive lighting systems, LED are replacing the existing technologies pushed by its tempting features: power efficiency, incomparable duration (with innate shock resistance), design flexibility and continuous cost decreases.
Following this trend today’s smart headlamp systems implementation require the use of sophisticated LED drive solutions, with advanced diagnostics (bulb outage detection, overload, etc.) and control features (PWM, DC). More advanced systems, implementing dynamic lightings, require also headlamp levelling and bend lighting control.
From drivers and advanced regulators to low cost and high performance microcontrollers, coupled with an extensive standard product offering, ST has a broad range of solutions to choose from.
