PLC are made by modules: input modules to manage industrial input at 24V, like sensors and industrial parts working on the 4-20 mA bus. Intelligent power switches represent the output module, able to manage inductive, resistive and capacitive loads. As a special feature we have also galvanically insulated IPS, to be used on safety applications (the so called yellow modules) as well as the devices which are ready for SIL. Industrial communication is another module, here are RS485 and other module cards for industrial fieldbus, any kind can be managed through microcontrollers, like CANOpen, Profibus, Modbus, CC-Link and also industrial Ethernet for real-time applications like Ethernet Powerlink. At lower level there is also IO-Link module which can be managed with our Master and Device ICs. You can find in the module special connectors, like M12 connectors dedicated to the communication bus to be managed. Protection are embedded in all these modules or slot cards making the PLC a modular device that can grow accordingly to the growing needs of the application.
